I have read few reviews and the result is this:
The graphic is disaster. And after 10 years of development they had to make a patch soon after releasing of the game - bugs, technical mistakes. There is plenty whining about it.
Fights in the game are hard, even on the easy level.
Characters - there are three different classes to choose, they differ not only in common features (health, strenght ...) but also influence amount of helpers in group, ability to repair your armor etc.
Dungeons seem rather boring, neverending, with milions of levels.
The big plus is the story. The scenario has 1600 pages, there are plenty of long dialogues (all reading, no dubbing), it is slightly mixed with adventure - searching for clues, talking with people to find the villain, mad clicking all around the area to find something hidden etc. The main story lasts around 100 hours to finish (+ 50 more for side quests).
And about torturing - starts with gathering proofs, when you have enough of them you can ask the inquisitor for an arrest warrant, etc. It is a whole procedure, sounds realistic. As I understand you can climb up in ranks of inquisition, which gives you more rights. Of course if you make mistake and torture innocent it influence your reputation and development in game.
So yea, the detailed and large story is what the reviews value most, but in my opinion it also means the game will never be translated. Only if the creators decide to spend another years with translation, and still, not sure who would buy this game - because of its design.
Writer of one review says: It is like the authors sit together, gathered plenty of ideas they missed in other RPGs, created a very good scenario with detailed game mechanisms and original elements. They started programming but then suddently they realised they missed money for a proffesional graphic...
